ENAD began in 2000, staging plays by eminent writers as well as original productions. When we revived the group in 2024, we returned with works by two renowned playwrights—Manoj Mitra and Badal Sircar—while continuing to create our own original plays.

For the Bay Area Natyamela, we decided to present a comedy that would also tell our own story and feel relevant to our community. We began with a simple idea: a popular serial writer comes to attend the America Kolkata Bengali Conference and soon finds herself surrounded by people bringing their personal problems to her. From there, the situation unfolds in unexpected ways. The play was very well received at Natyamela, and the audience especially enjoyed the engaging storyline and the singing. So we decided to bring it back to a larger audience.

The play is lighthearted yet thoughtful, exploring the power of storytelling, the tension between popular entertainment and serious literature, and the responsibility that comes with being a creator.
